i am really getting a kick out of friendster testimonials. it's like blurbing a book, only with people. it reminds me of the fourth grade. my teacher, ms kardeman, invented this thing called "student of the week." essentially, each student got to be "student of the week" for one week out of the year, and you got to pick your book first for USSR (uninterrupted sustained silent reading) and get your lunch first and things like that. but the best part was that each and every person in the class was required to write something nice about you on a little slip of paper, and they were hung up on the "student of the week" bulletin board along with your picture. surprisingly, i don't think anyone ever wrote anything nasty, and it was actually really sweet. of course, the kids who didn't know you that well (my class had almost 40 people) would write that you had nice handwriting or something like that, but your friends would generally go all out. friendster reminds me of that, of declaring to the whole world how much you like someone. because even though some people on friendster have 70 or 80 friends listed, i've only seen at most 12 or so testimonials for most people, and so you know it's the people that care enough about that person to do it, and it's heartwarming in a way. maybe i'm just saying that because i have awesome friends who write me awesome testimonials.

job interview tomorrow at the place that sarah passed my resume to. i am a little nervous. i feel like i've got the butterflies already, but that may just be my persistent queasiness. seriously, off and on for the past three weeks and really strongly since sunday i start to feel really sick sometime in the late afternoon, and it lasts all night. sometimes it is accompanied by a headache. tonight at a diner with allie and adrienne, i barely nibbled at my hamburger. i would say i spend half of each day feeling like i might puke. and no, i am definitely not pregnant, in case that's what you were going to suggest. so it would really be extra nice to get this job, because then i would have health insurance and i could go to a doctor and find out why i didn't even really enjoy my lemon cream sauce pasta for lunch today.

adrienne, allie, and i rented scotland, PA tonight. macbeth redone in a fast food restaurant. not spectacular, but pretty funny. macbeth is my favorite shakespeare play, and i thought it was cleverly updated.
